The book has systematic approach to the subject. Miracles are the signs of Allah. These are beyond human comprehension, experience and observation. Prophets cannot perform miracles of their own. Every such act of this is an act of Allah. Miracles generally exhibited by Allah through the prophets. It is an authentic book on the subject.

When a miracle takes place, that by itself can not be a direct evidince of prophethood of the person who exhibits the miracle. However, a miracle impresses people with the fact that the person has the spritual power needed for the showing of the miracle and that he must be true in his claim of prophethood. Moreover, it has been understood, through the ages, that the prophet always has some ultra-natural power. Therefore, whenever a claim of prophethood has been put forward, people have demanded a show of miracles. In this way, a miracle is a psychological sign of prophethood.

The Divided Self

Subject: Psychology
Author: R. D. Laing
Publisher: Penguin Books - Pelican
Year published: 1987
Price: RM7
Pages: 210
Condition: Good
Product code: 00006

Dr Laing's first purpose is to make madness and the process of going made comprehensible. In this, with case studies of schizophrenic patients, he succeeds brilliantly, but he does more; through a vision of sanity and madness as 'degrees of conjunction and disjunction between two persons where the one is sane by common consent' he offers a rich existential analysis of personal alienation.

The outsider, estranged from himself and society, cannot experience either himself or others as 'real'. He invents a false self and with it he confronts both the outside world and his own despair. The disintegration of his real self keeps pace with the growing unreality of his false self until, in the extremes of schizophrenic breakdown, the whole personality disintegrates.

Viruses, the smallest living organisms, the common diseases which they cause, the problems of their survival, and the efforts being made to control them.

Viruses as the smallest of living organisms are of the greatest interest to the biologist concerned with the fundamental nature of life, and the new techniques which have been developed in the last 20 years have made their laboratory study a fascinating pursuit.

In this book, the author gives an account of the common virus diseases of man in which both the human and the scientific aspects are considered. The theme running through almost every chapter is that of survival - how has the mumps virus survived unchanged since the days of Hippocrates? - where do influenza viruses go in summer? - and in the final chapter an attempt is made to assess what the future may hold in store.

Is another influenza pandemic like that of 1918 still possible; is it conceivable that new virus diseases coild be deliberately created; why has poliomyelitis become important only within the last fifty years? There are still plenty of questions.

Did you know that a three-stage rocket, similar to the one which took the astronauts to the moon was invented in Rumania in the fifteenth century? Did you also know that a flying machine left the ground in Mexico 2000 years ago? Did you know that the Pyramids were used to keep human beings alive in a state of suspended animation? That reincarnation is a proveable fact?

These are just a few of the many mysterious facts - hitherto known only to initiates - that are revealed in this astonishing book. 'The Mysterious Unknown' explains too how Man came to our earth from other worlds and how those who lived in pre-history times possessed knowledge and wisdom that still remains to be re-discovered.

Guardians Of The Universe?

Author: Ronald Story
Publisher: New English Library
Year published: 1980
Pages: 191
Price: RM6
Condition: Good

In 'The Space-Gods Revealed', Ronald Story probed the 'proofs' of the space-god theorising of Von Daniken and produced the first damning critique of a fast-growing cult.

Now- in 'Guardians of the Universe?' - he carries the demolition of Von Daniken and his disciples a stage further.

Challenging the notions of Charroux, Jessop, and - most notably - Robert Temple's 'The Sirius Mystery', Story has produced a fascinating new look at one of the great controverties of our time, assaulting the spurious and misleading whilst keeping an open mind on the unanswered questions about extraterrestrial presences beyond the grasp of man.

Subject: Cosmology
Author: Erich von Daniken
Publisher: Corgi Books
Year published: 1983
Pages: 194
Price: RM7

Product code: 00002

Erich von Daniken has travelled the world in search of evidence of the astronaut gods. This new book describes his most hazardous and daring adventure: the quest for the terrible and mysterious gods of Kiribati, a tiny Pacific archipelago where gigantic stones encircle graves on which not even weeds will live, giant footprints appear in the rock, and monoliths point the way to other sites across the ocean. In a vivid summary of his findings throughout the world , von Daniken draws in the evidence of statues and carvings in South America and the thousands of reported sightings of UFOs, leading him to believe that the ancient gods have returned to watch over us.

The Stones of Kiribati is a compelling story of one man's obsession with a colossal and mindshattering idea.
